Iris “Ali” Aline Trost

Iris Aline “Ali” Trost, 95, of Cedar Falls, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.

She was born on October 20, 1930, in Jacksonville, TX, to Arthur and Francis Henderson Anthony, and graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1949.

She married Lloyd Kreger in 1950, and they later divorced. She married Gail A. Trost on December 27, 1978, in Las Vegas; he preceded her in death on December 27, 1986. Her long-time companion, John Naylor passed away in 2011.

Ali worked at the Black Hawk County Courthouse at the receptionist desk for 23 years retiring in 1991

She had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church; volunteered at MercyOne (formerly Covenant) after her retirement and was an avid reader

Ali is survived by daughter Susan (Dean) Goodsell of Cedar Falls; son, Skip Kreger of Waterloo; daughter, Kelly (Javier) Kreger of Waterloo; 5 grandchildren: Jill (Nick), Ben (Katie), Zach (Whitney), Cody and Autumn (Jed) and 5 great grandchildren: Evelynn, Zane, Quinn, Jack and Aleyna.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gail; companion, John Naylor; 9 brothers and sisters.

Graveside Services: 1:30 PM, Monday, June 8, 2026, at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
