Jeffrey “Jeff” David Wilken, 62, of Waterloo, died at his home Sunday, October 26, 2025, of natural causes. He was born on February 27, 1963, the son of Darrel and Doris (Smith) Wilken. Jeff was born on Guam while his father served in the US Navy and the family returned to Cedar Falls when he was two years old. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1981. He later married Lori Schirm in 1985 and the couple was blessed with two daughters, Paige and Kaitlyn. The couple later divorced.

Jeff worked as a commercial painter for over 30 years. He loved to spend his free time fishing or playing disc golf with his friends until his health began to decline. He and his dog, Emma, were inseparable. She could always be found by his side, whether it be on the boat fishing, the disc golf course, or even at work. Jeff loved his daughters very much and he was always proud of the quality time he had spent fishing and doing many other outdoor activities with them when they were young.

Jeff is survived by his daughters, Paige (Blake) Smith of Waterloo, and their daughter Cecelia, and Kaitlyn (Austin) Beck of Springdale, AR, and their daughter Maxine; his parents, Darrel and Doris Wilken of Cedar Falls; and a brother Michael (Angela) Wilken, of Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by his favorite dogs, Gracie and Emma.
