Jerry Jay “JJ” Linsey, of Waterloo, died Sunday December 22, 2013 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

He was born on March 13, 1944 in Waterloo, the son of Leo and Verlie (Smith) Linsey. He graduated from East High School in 1963.

Jerry married Linda Lawrence on June 18, 1966 in Waterloo. He worked at John Deere from 1967 to until his retirement in 1997. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1970, he also was a member of the Shade Tree Street Rod Club.

He is Survived by his wife Linda Linsey of Waterloo; 1 son, Michael (Robyn) Linsey, of Waterloo; 1 daughter, Lisa (Danny) Geary of Cedar Falls; 2 grandchildren, Katelyn and Andrew Terrones; 2 step-grandchildren, Danny and Tyler Geary; 2 brothers, Larry (Kay) Linsey of Saint Charles, Missouri and Roger Linsey of Waterloo; And 1 half- brother Harold (Judy) Ripley of Shell Rock.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law Jean Linsey.
