Shirley “Gwen” West, 73, of Waterloo, formerly of Plainwell, MI, died Monday, September 14, 2020 at her home.

She was born August 13, 1947, in South Haven, MI, daughter of Frederick E. and Shirley Dunlop Davis. Gwen graduated from Plainwell High School in Plainwell, MI.

She worked as a secretary of the Philosophy and Religion Department at Western Michigan University.

Gwen enjoyed spending her time volunteering at Christian Neighbors, and reading, sewing, and knitting. Gwen was a member of Otsego Church of God in Michigan

She is survived by her daughter, Noelle (Gery Brinker) West of Waterloo; son, Dan West of Plainwell, MI; two brothers, Larry Davis of Pennsylvania, and Jason (Diane) Davis of Plainwell, MI; one sister, Robin (Bill) Rackley of Plainwell, MI, and six grandchildren, Brittany (Jared) Peters, Skyelar (Dalton Ford) Myers, and Trevor, Spencer, Alayna, and Bailey West.

Gwen is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lynn Oliveri; and one brother, Freddie Davis, Jr.
