Roy A. Hartman, 82, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died at Sartori Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, September 30, 2008.

Roy was born April 8, 1926 in Belvedere, Wisconsin, the son of Arthur and Elma Hartman.

He married Elaine L. Heintz in September of 1948, in Caledonia, Minnesota; she died April 26, 2008.

Roy served in the Army during the Korean conflict.

He was a machinist at John Deere PEC for 29 years; he retired in 1980.

Roy is survived by sons, Greg and his wife Vernita of Waterloo and Paul and his wife Tami of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and three granddaughters: Crystal Hartman, Alena Hartman, and Angie Schmitz and her husband Ted.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.
