Ken R. Slagenweit, 58, of Evansdale, died at Allen Memorial Hospital on Sunday, August 24, 2008, of complications from an illness.

Kenneth Ray was born on October 17, 1949, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the son of Gaylord and Marjorie Parsons Slagenweit.

Ken graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1967.

He married Rhonda Kirchmann on May 8, 1998 in Waterloo.

He worked as a printer for several years and for the past ten years at Goodwill Industries as a sales associate.

Ken is survived by his wife Rhonda of Evansdale, son Michael (Tobey) Slagenweit-Coffman of Arlington, Virginia, and son Alex Kirchmann of Evansdale, and three brothers: Roy of Cedar Rapids, David (Cindy) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Peter of Fort Dodge.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
