Michael K. Kingery, 72, of Waterloo, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born on September 2, 1952 in Charles City, the son of Keith and Pauline (Thieman) Kingery. Michael served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Michael married Marsha Heinichein, they later divorced. He then married Jimi Jo Waddell, March 8th, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked at John Deere and retired after 30 years and worked at the foundry and NE site locations in production.
He was a member of the UAW Local 838. He loved to hunt, fish, gamble, and he was a dedicated Iowa Hawkeye fan. At the age of 52, Michael was a liver transplant recipient which gave him 20 extra years of life.
Michael is survived by: wife of 28 years, Jimi Jo of Waterloo; daughter, Tara VanSant of Grand Meadow' MN; son, Michael VanSant of Duluth' MN; step-daughter, Amy Pettit (Jeff Beckmann) of Cedar Falls; Grandchildren, Cheyen, Tatianna, Angelina, Tyler, Meagan, Logan, Derek, Libby, Daniel, Emma, and Eva; great-grandsons, Landon, Koda, and AJ. sisters, Sandra (Bob) Trumbauer of Waterloo and Debra Barker of Tel Aviv, Israel.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Kingery; and step-mother, Donna.
Memorial Services: 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Locke at Tower Park, Waterloo.
Military rites by: US Marine Corps Honor Detail and the Evansdale AMVETS Post #31.
