Darlene J. Hoffman, 72, died Thursday, May 2, 2002 at her residence following cancer.

She was born March 4, 1930, in Waterloo, Iowa, daughter of George John and Frieda Buegge Dismer Sr. She was a graduate of West High School.

She married Roy Allen Hoffman on April 4, 1948 in Waterloo. He died December 18, 1981.

Darlene was a Postal Clerk for 33 years at the Waterloo Post Office, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the “B” Natural Club and the Business Women of America.

She is survived by her daughter, Rozann Reuter of Waterloo, and one son, Richard Hoffman of Jesup; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Darlene is preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter, Cheryl A. Reuter; one brother, George J. Dismer Jr.; and one sister, Marguerite L. Copeland.
