Frances M. Daniels, 86, of 556 Beverly Hills St., Waterloo, died Thursday, February 21, 2002, at Affinity Assisted Living.

Frances was born April 14, 1915, in Orange Township, Black Hawk County, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Mumper) Dane. She grew up on her parents’ farm south east of Orange and graduated from Orange High School in 1933.

Frances married LeRoy Eggleston May 12, 1938 in Oelwein. He died June 30, 1952. After his death, she began working in the Clerk of Court Office in Black Hawk County. She married Victor Daniels October 24, 1959 in Waterloo and moved to West Union, where she worked in the Fayette County Clerk’s Office. He died June 27, 1964. After his death, she moved back to the clerk’s office in Black Hawk County where she worked until her retirement in 1984.

Frances had a number of interests including travel, crewel embroidery, hand work, art of all kinds, her yard, music, fishing and cards. Her primary interest and focus was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Frances is survived by her son Craig Eggleston and his wife Joanne of Waterloo; daughter Jeanne and her husband Stanley Atkinson of Waterloo; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, Diana Hartman and her husband David and their daughter Gabrielle, Scott Eggleston and his wife Samantha and their son Blake, Deborah Tyler her husband Jeff and their daughter Alydia, Randy Atkinson his wife Kathy and their children Ashley and Chase, Rick Atkinson his wife Cindy and their children David and Andrew James, Lori Pickard her husband James and their children Troy and Travis. She is also survived by her brothers Burton Dane of Bentonville, Arkansas and John E. “Jack” Dane of LaPorte City.
