Barbara was born February 7, 1939, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, the daughter of Tony and Agnes (Bradley) Bacich. She grew up in Wisconsin but received her music and education degrees from the Iowa State Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls. She married Adrian Martin October 7, 1962 and they were later divorced.
