Sylvia “Heather” Stuart Boote Hoofnagle, 81, of Waterloo; formerly of Buenos Aires, Argentina, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at her residence.

She was born October 5, 1923, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the daughter of Stanley and Dorothy (Small) Boote. She attended Villa Devoto School, an English Primary School in Buenos Aires.

Heather married Richard L. Hoofnagle on October 22, 1965, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He died on January 3, 2004. She was a secretary for the British Embassy in Buenos Aires until she married. Heather enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and a member of the Waterloo Chapter #128 O.E.S.

She is survived by her sister, Lavender B. Gregg of Fallbrook, California; sister, Diane B. May of Buenos Aires, Argentina; and several nieces and nephews.

Heather was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; and sister, Moira B. Mackenzie.
