The family will be holding a private Memorial Service

Peggy Bardsley, 89, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, December 17, 2024. She was born January 3, 1935, in Dubuque, daughter of Lloyd and Wilhelmina (Steffler) Brady. She married Harry Bardsley on July 5, 1951, in Dubuque, he preceded her in death on April 7, 1997.

Peggy was the manager of Yankee Kitchen for many years until her retirement. She loved to cook and brought that gift and talent home where she also loved to cook big meals for her family. She was a selfless, nurturing person; and was a caretaker for several people throughout her life. She liked taking care of everyone else and was the most generous person you could meet.

In addition to being a true people person, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels, and gardening and canning. Peggy was an avid card player, especially euchre, and she played to win!

Peggy is survived by her children: Steve (Cindi) Bardsley’ Greg (Jenn) Bardsley, and Robyn (Bob) Baxter; her grandchildren: David Bardsley, Sarah Kindschi, Laura Schmitt, Rachel Bardsley, Ellen Seyfer, John Bardsley, Joel Bardsley, and Kelly Boros; nine great-grandchildren; and her sister, Audrey Overhouse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, two sisters, two brothers, and her parents.
