Norma Jean Troudt, 82, of Waterloo, died at ManorCare Health Services on Friday, March 30, 2007.

Norma was born July 1, 1924, in Springfield, Illinois, daughter of August and Nora Brewer Lindquist.

She graduated from Springfield High School in 1942 and received her Registered Nursing degree from St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield in 1947. Norma married Robert Troudt on November 16, 1947, in Springfield, Illinois. Norma worked for 34 years as a registered nurse, at St Francis Hospital, Allen Memorial Hospital, Sartori Hospital, and at Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, retiring in 1972. She loved nursing and patient care and worked as a private duty nurse, floor nurse, and head nurse.

Norma is survived by her husband Robert, son Ronald R. Troudt and his wife Carolyn of Waterloo, daughter Diana Arter of Waterloo, daughter Karen Slessor and her husband Vernon of Plainfield, daughter Mary Ann Pryor and her husband Dennis of Springfield, Illinois, son Michael Troudt and his wife Sheila of Waterloo, daughter Janice Niederhauser and her husband David of Waterloo, 19 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents, grandson Timothy Pryor, three brothers: Everett, Ralph, and Charles Lindquist, and sister Mary Louise Lindquist.
