Erma Jean Richter

Erma J. Richter, 67, of Evansdale, died Saturday, January 4, 2025, at her home of natural causes. She was born on August 29, 1957, in Waterloo, daughter of Carl R. and Ethel A. (Sharar) Stocks. She graduated from East High School. She married Dale Richter on October 3, 1980. Erma was a homemaker and housewife. She enjoyed crafting, taking care of her flowers, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband, Dale of Evansdale; three sons: DJ (Amanda) Richter, Bryan Richter, and Cody Richter; 11 grandchildren; two stepkids: Kelly Richter and Tanya Mrzlak; three brothers: Carl Jr. (Julie) Stocks, Terry Stocks, and Danny (Sandy) Stocks and two sisters, Vickie Albert and Karen (Rex) Neuenkirk.

Erma is preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Marie and her parents.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00pm Wednesday, at Locke at Garden View.

Funeral services 10:30 AM, Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Locke at Garden View, 3655 Logan Ave., Waterloo with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials are directed to the family or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
