Leona Emily Knipp, 90, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at the Denver Sunset Home in Denver, Iowa.
She was born on March 21, 1917, in Fredericksburg, Iowa, the daughter of August and Freida (Sternat) Kempin.
Leona grew up in Fredericksburg and graduated from High School there in 1934.
She married Harry Knipp on July 12, 1941, in Bethany, Missouri. Harry died January 16, 1987.
Leona worked as a clerk for the Waterloo Water Works for many years.
She is survived by a number of nieces.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry, brother Herbert Kempin, and two sisters: Olga Sheridan and Anita Hopka.
