Robert S. Klinger, 40, of Waterloo died at Covenant Medical Center on Monday, October 6, 2010 from glioblastoma brain cancer.

He was born November 8, 1969 in Bossier City, Louisiana, son of Larry and Prudence Colaw Klinger.

Rob graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1988. He worked 13 years for different contractors as a plasterer and exterior finisher. He retired in 2004 due to a disability.

Rob is survived by his son Carter Klinger of Waterloo; parents Larry and Prudence Klinger of Waterloo; brother Jeffrey (Cheri) Klinger of Sumner; sister Kristin (Brad Slattenow) Wood of Waterloo; special friend Angela Buss and her children Zach and Abbey; stepson Jesse Campbell of Waterloo; stepson Nicholas (Randi Larson) Woodson of Waterloo; stepdaughter Lyndsie Woodson of Waterloo; step granddaughter Jada Lynn Woodson; paternal grandmother Genavene Klinger of Waterloo; maternal grandparents Emerson and Jane Colaw of Cincinnati, Ohio; niece and nephews: Justin Klinger, Marlie Klinger, Troy and Jaden Wood, and Nathan and Josh Slattenow; and a wide circle of good friends.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Murl Klinger.
